Abstract

ZnAl2O4 nanostructures have been synthesized following a facile epoxide addition, sol–gel route. Upon gelation, these highly amorphous materials can be annealed at 600°C to yield purely crystalline ZnAl2O4 nanostructures. This method allows for control of desired physical properties such as high surface area, high porosity and small crystallite size.
