Abstract

In our present study we attempt to achieve the doping of Ti in MoS2without any secondary phases by a controlled atmosphere synthetic method for the first time. We have synthesized MoS2, TiS2and Ti doped MoS2multi layered nanosheets by the same method which is highly reproducible within a short period of time. Phase formation and surface morphology of the compounds analysed by XRD, Raman analysis andHRTEMconfirmed the single phase formation and layered sheet like structure of the synthesised compounds. The Ti doped MoS2showed 99% adsorption of Rhodamine B which is attributed to the increased active sites induced by doping.
