Abstract

Spongy micro-copper powder was prepared via a facile ethanol-water thermal reduction by controlling the reaction temperatures and the volume ratios of ethanol and water. Micro-copper powder with spongy structure could be obtained when the temperature was 210 °C and the volume ratio of ethanol and water was 3/2. The as-prepared spongy micro-copper powder exhibited excellent oxidation resistance performance, which was benefit to its preservation and application. A possible mechanism of the shape formation was also proposed.
