Abstract

Visible light photocatalysts have stimulated great research efforts. In this contribution, graphene-like Co3S4 nanosheet/Ag2S nanocomposite was prepared using a simple method, and characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and UV–Vis DRS, etc. The photocatalytic properties of the nanocomposite was evaluated by the photocatalytic degradation of Methylene blue (MB) and Methyl orange (MO) under visible light irradiation. The nanocomposite photocatalyst displays excellent stability and photocatalytic activity compared with pure Co3S4 nanosheet or Ag2S nanoparticles. The superior photocatalytic properties were attributed to its unique structures, which could promote efficiently electron/hole separation and transportation.
