Abstract

Porous NiMo film was prepared by one-step electrodeposition under super gravity field and was used as electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). NiMo films possessed three-dimensional porous structure. The thickness of porous layer was up to 180–240 μm. Porous NiMo films with extremely large real active area exhibited high catalytic activity for HER. The overpotential was very low and only 47 mV at 100 mA cm−2. Meanwhile, porous NiMo films possessed good long-term stability by accelerated degradation studies.
