Abstract

MoO2 thin films were deposited on holey carbon Cu grids by a reactive magnetron sputtering method and were directly assembled as working electrodes in Li-ion cells. The deposited MoO2 thin films exhibit Li-ion charge/discharge characteristics. A facile method was developed to investigate the electrochemical reaction, by a transmission electron microscopy (TEM), to characterize the phase composition and evolution of the MoO2 thin films that have been electrochemically induced at different stages. The results show that this method is a simple and effective way for TEM investigation of the electrochemical induced products.
