Abstract

Phosphine exchange occurs rapidly between RuCl 2(PPh 3) n ( n = 3, 4 and Ru(C 5H 4PPh 2) 2 (dppr) at room temperature to give RuCl 2(dppr)(PPh 3), 1. Triphenylphosphine is more substitutionally labile than dppr in 1; selective phosphine substitution of with CO and CH 3CN gives [RuCl 2(CO)(dppr)] and two geometric isomers of [RuCl 2(NCCH 3) 2(dppr)] respectively.
