Abstract

Rationally designing bimetallic nanomaterials with high porosity and large specific surface area has an advantageous effect on enhancing catalytic performance. Bimetallic AuCu aerogels were successfully prepared using the in-situ reductions of Au and Cu precursors without any surfactant. Given its three-dimensional interconnected network and exposed crystal face, AuCu aerogels exhibited considerably excellent catalytic capabilities for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol than other reported Au-based catalysts.
