Abstract

A homework activity incorporating the social networking site Facebook is presented as a tool for teaching adolescent clients about the cognitive model and increasing their ability to identify and modify problematic thinking. The authors describe how a worksheet developed to help clients examine information presented on their Facebook profile can increase self-awareness and reflection of maladaptive patterns of thinking. The process is explained and the authors provide a case illustration of how the worksheet was used with an adolescent client who was experiencing school and relational difficulties.
