Abstract
Accurate and efficient face authentication method has been a hot research field for a long time. The main research attention of this paper was directed toward studying the face authentication based on RGB color image and depth image, which is captured by Kinect device. Firstly, the 121 face features was extracted based on Candide-3 face model. Secondly, this paper built a face mask using the characteristics value extracted from the depth image. Finally, this paper calculated the covariance of the characteristics value to analyze the similarity of different face images. Experiments results showed that the proposed method is fast, convenient and has good accuracy.
