Abstract

In this paper we describe a method to fabricate ultrafine protein arrays on metal nanostructures. The method consists of the simple fabrication of Au nanowire arrays and the immobilization of protein on these wires. After fabricating the metallic nanowire arrays through nanotransfer edge printing, we pattern proteins on the metal arrays through the interactions of protein–mercaptoundecanoic acid and gold. The metallic nanostructures promote the surface-enhanced Raman scattering of the attached protein ultrafine arrays.
