Abstract

Semiconductor zinc oxide nanoparticles were prepared by hydrothermal method and were characterized. They were trapped into surfactant sensitive epoxy resin membrane in order to get zinc oxide embedded zinc oxide-epoxy resin nanocomposite membrane. The effect of incorporation of zinc oxide nanoparticles on the membrane has been studied in terms of potentiometric response of membrane against dodecyl sulphate anions. The results showed marked changes in the sensitivity of composite membrane in comparison to its noncomposite counterpart in terms of Nernstian response.
