Abstract

Occlusal equilibration is an important step in the insertion of a removable prosthesis. 1 Kratochvil F.J. Partial removable prosthodontics. WB Saunders, Philadelphia1988 Google Scholar Both intraoral and extraoral equilibration techniques may be used, depending on the type of support for the removable partial denture (RPD) and the type of occlusion. Although intraoral refinement in some situations can be accomplished to an acceptable degree of accuracy, extraoral equilibration on an articulator is recommended and desirable in many instances. 1 Kratochvil F.J. To incorporate the advantages of extraoral equilibration with reasonable chair time during insertion, a method for fabricating an RPD remount cast during the wax trial insertion appointment is described.
