Abstract
This paper reports a simple, low cost method to fabricate millimetre-scale refractive axicons utilizing electrostatic force. The axicon consists of a SU8 droplet and a commercial biconcave lens. UV light is employed to cure the droplet when the droplet shape evolves into a cone shape due to nonuniform electrical pressure along the liquidair interface. Both numerical analysis and experiments show that the proposed axicon images a point source to a continuous line and improves the uniformity of the axial intensity compared to linear axicons.
