Abstract

Three quaternary Ir–Nb–Ni–Al alloys with more than one expected phase were first fabricated using elemental powders by Pulse Electric Current Sintering (PECS) process. The phase and microstructure were quite different from that of the samples fabricated by conventional arc-melting method. F.c.c/L1 2 coherent structure seemed to be difficult to form by PECS.
