Abstract

In this work, novel copper oxide (CuO)@layered double oxide (LDO) microspheres were designed and fabricated via a facile coprecipitation-calcination method. The X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) results confirm that the CuO@LDO hybrid microspheres were successfully designed and fabricated. In addition, the CuO@LDO microspheres exhibit the excellent adsorption performances on Congo Red (CR) compared with LDO, and the maximum theoretical adsorption capacity of CuO@LDO microspheres is 540 mg/g. The adsorption behaviors confirm to the Langmuir isotherm and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model.
