Abstract

ABSTRCTComposite materials show more superior performance compared with the single-component materials. Core-shell material as a new composite material are more and more widely used. TiO2@SiO2 core-shell microspheres belong to inorganic core-shell microspheres, compared with other types of core-shell material, the inorganic core-shell microspheres have advantage of controlled size, structural stability, easy surface modification, and so on. In the present paper, we demonstrated the synthesis of novel monodisperse core-shell microspheres with a TiO2 shell using a convenient process. Due to owning core-shell structures with TiO2 surface, the obtained TiO2@SiO2 microspheres can be used as photocatalysts.
