Abstract
An experimental procedure is presented for synthesis of AlOOH nanofibers by a hydrothermal process in aqueous solution of cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) surfactant at 200 °C. The structure, morphology, purity and size of the products are investigated by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and standard selected area electron diffraction (SAED). A possible formation mechanism of the AlOOH nanostructures is proposed based on the reaction dynamics process and the surfactant-assisted growth.
