Abstract

The unique Bi 2Te 3 tubes were obtained via a simple solvothermal reaction in the presence of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt. The product was characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Bi 2Te 3 nanosheets are vertically grown off the tube wall to form Bi 2Te 3 tubes. A possible formation mechanism is proposed.
