Abstract

A novel bi-layer gelatin methacrylamine (GelMA)/poly (ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) fibrous membrane was fabricated by using electronspining and photo-crosslinking techniques. Compared with the crosslinked GelMA fibrous membrane, the crosslinked GelMA/PEGDA fibrous membrane have several times stronger mechanical properties and show a controllable degradation rate of more than 8 weeks in PBS or collagenase type I solution. The upper side of crosslinked GelMA/PEGDA fibrous membrane retard the proliferation of fibroblast and lower side benefit the proliferation of osteoblast. These properties are especially beneficial to guided bone regeneration (GBR) material used in periodontal surgery. Furthermore, the physical properties, degradation ratio, cell adhesion and proliferation can be fine-tuned by control the crosslinking time and PEGDA.
