Abstract

In order to decrease the Al 2O 3 sintering temperature and modify the bioactivity of implant, the low melting point A/W bioglass was selected to prepare Al 2O 3–A/W bioglass coating through tape casting process. The experiment showed that A/W bioglass react with water during ball milling and the pH value of slurries is always changed. Although some compositions of bioglass evaporate at sintering temperature, 99.17% relative density of Al 2O 3–10 wt.% A/W tape sintered at 1300 °C was achieved. The result indicated that it was possible to prepare the bioactivity A/W–Al 2O 3 coating layer by tape casting.
