Abstract

Large-quantity flower-like tubular ZnO coated with Fe3O4 nanoparticles were synthesized via a simple solution method at low temperature. The phase structures and morphologies of the composite had been characterized by XRD and FESEM. The results showed that Fe3O4 nanoparticles coating on flower-like tubular ZnO can be obtained at 90 °C. The structure of flower-like tubular ZnO was not destroyed in the coating process. The test of electromagnetic wave absorption was carried out by the radar-absorbing materials (RAM) reflectivity far field radar cross-section (RCS) method. Magnetic measurements revealed the presence of magnetite nanoparticles in the composites. Measurements of the electromagnetic parameters of the samples showed that the flower-like tubular ZnO/Fe3O4 nanocomposites were much better than the pure ZnO or Fe3O4 with the efficiency of electromagnetic wave absorption.
