Abstract
Ellipsoidal lens that can deliberately introduce astigmatism into the system was fabricated utilizing surface tension. A droplet of UV-curable photoresist was put on an elliptical substrate that was fabricated by 3D printing and cured by UV light when it was steady. The lens shape was calculated both analytically and numerically, indicating the relationship among lens shape, droplet volume and substrate size, which was verified by experimental data. Effects of gravity on the lens shape were finally studied by numerical simulation.
