Abstract

ABSTRACT MXene is a new type of transition metal carbon/nitride two-dimensional nanolayered material, which has attracted extensive attention in many fields due to its unique physicochemical properties. Combining MXene with high-performance polymers is expected to obtain nanocomposites with excellent comprehensive properties. In this study, MXene was first modified with acidified 6-aminocaproic acid and then mixed with Polyamide 6 (PA6) matrix. The structure, thermal stability, mechanical properties, and electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency of MXene-based PA6 nanocomposites were studied. The modified MXene was well dispersed in the PA6 matrix with beneficial interfacial adhesion, and the mechanical properties and electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency were significantly enhanced. The method used in this study provides a novel route for fabricating MXene-based polymer nanocomposites with excellent performance.
