Abstract

CAEP (the China Academy of Engineering Physics) has developed a high average power THz radiation facility. A 1.3GHz RF buncher cavity is used to achieve short longitudinal bunch length. In order to regulate the amplitude and the phase of the accelerating voltage inside the buncher cavity, a digital LLRF (low-level radio-frequency) control system based on FPGA (field programmable gate array) technology was developed. This article mainly focuses on the fabrication and performance of the LLRF system, some test experiments have also been done and shows that the LLRF system works well and meets the design requirements.
