Abstract

The low conversion and catalytic efficiency of Fe2+/Fe3+in traditional Fenton reactions are the key problems. A new hydrogel system has been developed, which has a significant catalytic effect on the degradation of pollutants. More importantly, the dose of H2O2 (60 µl) was negligible, 100 % degradation was achieved within 60 min and the pH range was confirmed to be 2.5 to 6.5. In addition, the hydrogel spheres can be easily recycled and reused three times in the reaction system. The hydrogel system prepared by the ultra-convenient method in this study has a good prospect of pollutant degradation.
