Abstract

Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) has been considered as one of the promising power generation technologies for its high efficiency and fuel flexibility. Therein, anode supported SOFC with thin Gd0.1Ce0.9O2-δ (GDC) electrolytes have been shown to exhibit high performance in low temperature. Sr2Fe1.5Mo0.5O6-δ (SFM) ceramic anode materials have been studied due to its high carbon deposition resistance. Therefore, fabrication and performance of SFM-GDC(50:50 mass%) anode supported button cell with GDC electrolyte were researched in this work. The single cell performance was characterized with Ba0.9Co0.7Fe0.2Nb0.1O3-δ cathode. The maximum power density reached 188 mW cm-2 at 700 oC, without use of any metal catalyst to enhance the electro-catalytic. The big ohmic resistance resulting from low electronic conductivity of SFM-GDC supporter limits power output of the cell. The future work will be focused upon the ratio of SFM and GDC anode supports.
