Abstract
The self-assembly nano-polystyrene (PS) films have been prepared by laser induced CVD at room temperature. The XPS, Raman and UV–vis absorption spectra all indicated that the films were PS. The optical properties, microstructure and controllable nanostructure of PS films have been investigated. Dewetting-like microstructure in PS films was investigated and uniform island structures with a diameter of about 200nm were observed at the deposition pressure of 14Pa. The films possess good toughness and precisely controlled thicknesses. The free-standing PS films with thickness of 10nm could be obtained by this method though a series of process.
