Abstract

This paper reports the fabrication and optical properties of a series of quantum dots of ∼ 30–130 nm diameter dry etched from three different CdTeCdMnTe quantum wells. The effects of etching conditions on the physical profile and optical properties of the dots were investigated. Both strain relaxation and quasi-parabolic lateral quantum confinement were observed in the dots.
