Abstract

Abstract Fabrication and assembly of the vacuum vessel of the spherical tokamak Globus-M are described. The development of new technological procedures required for the vessel fabrication is outlined. Manufacturing of the vacuum vessel shell of the tokamak was the most difficult and laborious problem because of stringent reauirements for its shape, dimensions, mechanical and magnetic properties. The improvements made in the certification methods providing reliability of separate units and the vacuum vessel as a whole are described. As a result, the high-performance vacuum vessel was constructed and installed as an assembly unit of the spherical tokamak Globus-M.
