Abstract

To improve the safety performance of hexanitrohexaazaisopentane (CL-20), a new type of CL-20@tannic acid core-shell energetic composites was prepared with tannic acid (TA) as the shell and CL-20 as the core. The structure and safety performance of CL-20@TA were analyzed by a series of characterization techniques. The results indicated that TA was tightly coated on the surface of CL-20, which not only protected CL-20 from external stimulation, but also improved its thermal stability and reduced its impact sensitivity.
