Abstract

AbstractRobert Kronenburg is one of the leading advocates of portable and flexible architecture. Over the last decade he has written substantial books and curated major international shows on the subject. Here he highlights how recent innovations in material and digital techniques have facilitated the onset of a new type of fabric architecture that is able to house increasingly larger and culturally more significant facilities. Outlining the most pertinent technological developments in the field, he also provides a comprehensive account of some of the most important projects. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
