Abstract

Enzymes of the base excision repair (BER) pathway, the major DNA repair mechanism, were shown to be dysregulated in bipolar disorder (BD). The underlying mechanisms are yet to be elucidated. We examined epigenetic DNA methylation regulation of genes encoding for BER enzymes with potential influences of various clinical features in BD.
