Abstract
In hydrogen engine, high thermal efficiency and low nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions are required. For the achievement of them, there are many possible combinations of injection pressure, injection timing and ignition timing that can be used in a system that injects the fuel directly into the cylinder. In this study, different combinations of injection and ignition timings were classified as three combustion regimes, and experiments were conducted to make clear that each combustion regimes has their optimized fuel spray design for high thermal efficiency and low NOx emissions..
