Abstract
In the gravity field on the earth, the phase separation with different density phases is affected by the gravitational force. Especially phase separation from fluids, for example, nucleation, solidification, and liquid-liquid or liquid-gas phase separation with critical phenomena, are disturbed by the convection flow caused by the gravity. In previous microgravity experiments using a soumding rocket, abnormal behavior of the electrical resistance near the critical point of the Bi-Ga liquid alloy has been found. On the other hand, in order to grasp an atomic scale phase separation from the liquid phase, structural analysis experiments using neutron rays and X-rays is indispensable. In this study, we tried to observe the structure of the liquid Bi-Ga alloy by using an X-ray diffraction with the laser heating and gas floating. Measuring the scattering intensity X-ray irradiation to the liquid Bi-Ga alloy, it was determined the structure factor as a first step for the understanding of the characteristic behavior of the electrical resistance from the scattering intensity.
