Abstract

The author presents a summary of the operative and postoperative procedure for performing the transplantation of eyebrows using one-hair micrografting. Eyebrow deficits from various causes can be treated effectively using the micrografts of single hairs which are easily manipulated into a natural eyebrow design. About 140 hairs constitute a good eyebrow. The authors prefer to achieve this objective in two stages over four months. One of the planning aspects highlighted by the authors is donor site selection. Eyebrows are composed of fine hairs, so finding a donor site that can supply fine hair is important. Thick hair can result from roots with thick hair and may have to be removed from the transplanted eyebrow. The most common postoperative complaint is the itching of the grafts. In general, complications are infrequent and easily resolved.
