Abstract

Purpose: To evaluate pre- and postsurgical eye movement abnormalities in children with posterior fossa tumors. Methods: Conjugate and vergence eye movements were recorded with inferior rectus video-oculography in 25 children with posterior fossa (PF) tumors after resection of the tumor. Several children were also tested presurgically. Horizontal smooth pursuit (SPh) was elicited with a sinusoidally moving target (±10°, peak velocity, 30°/s). Horizontal and vertical OKN, optokinetic nystagmus, was assessed with a high contrast square-wave grating moving at 15, 30, and 45°/s.
