Abstract

We have presented [1, 2, 3, 4] a new signal processing algorithm accompanied with a novel structure for sound source localization in three-dimensional spaces. Our localization methodology has some analogy to the in the localization of light rays. In this paper we will show that by placing the so called eye array in a trihedral corner of an enclosed area, we can substantially reduce the early reverberation effect of the room in our algorithm. This is the consequences of both the retroreflection property of the orthogonal trihedral corners plus the pseudo-coincidence of the approximation cells with the source direction in our algorithm.
