Abstract
AbstractAs we are in the era of Internet of Things, the importance of lightweight devices is increasing. It is expected that applications which can run on wide range of devices have highest appeal to customers. For this reason, a voxels-based translation from 2D to 3D representation of objects in the input image is implemented and its suitability of deployment on resource constrained devices is analyzed based on execution time on raspberry Pi3B and Beagle Bone, considered as Single Board Computers. The experiment was conducted with the aim of (i) optimized execution of voxel-based 2D to 3D image transformation, (ii) formulation of framework to execute on a single board computer, (iii) basic hardware requirements of the single board computer. Our analysis of results showed that (i) Single Board Computers are suitable alternatives to host voxels-based image reconstruction techniques, (ii) number of cores in the processor alters the performance of the application, (iii) Execution time on single board computers is comparable with regular mainstream computers.KeywordsVoxelsRaspberry PiBeagle BoneSingle board computerSSH (Secure Socket Shell)
