Abstract

A new extrapolated impulse response technique using principal components analysis is proposed. This method can synthesise various window filters, saving about 50–85% of the multipliers compared with that in direct form. In addition, the frequency response performance satisfies within acceptable limits the corresponding requirements of the prototype filters.
