Abstract

A 70-year-old man with a history of coronary artery disease and bladder cancer presented with generalized weakness, a 1-week history of melena, and anemia (hematocrit 26.8%, normal range: 40%-54%). EGD revealed a 7-cm mass in the gastric fundus and proximal greater curvature, with central clean-based ulceration (A and B). Multiple biopsy specimens were obtained. Histopathologic examination revealed sheets of atypical plasma cells displaying increased cell size, fine nuclear chromatin, prominent nucleoli, and occasional multinucleation (C).
