Abstract

Abstract: A 53-year-old man received an FDG-PET scan as a follow-up study for previous colon polyps. The FDG-PET scan revealed an area of extraordinary high FDG uptake at the left parotid region. Computed tomography (CT) showed a 1.6-cm contrast-enhancing nodule in the left parotid gland and the nodule was surgically removed. The histopathologic report confirmed the lesion was a pleomorphic adenoma (benign mixed tumor) of the left parotid gland.
