Abstract

Extraction of zinc(II) with hept-2-ynyltrioctylammonium bromide from solutions of sodium and potassium halides and hydrochloric acid was studied. Extraction of zinc in the form of (R4X)+ZnX3 - and (R4X)+ 2ZnX4 2 - complexes (where X is halide anion) follows from the log-log plots. Hept-2-ynyltrioctylammonium bromide is a promising extracting agent for Zn(II).
