Abstract

Extraction of titanium(IV) gallate species into tri-iso-octylamine (TIOA) has been studied to develop a spectrophotometric method for the determination of titanium. The behaviour of common ions, under the conditions for quantitative extraction of titanium, is reported. Examples are given of application of the method to analysis of steels, reactor-grade thoria, and silicate rocks.
