Abstract

Recent data for the masses of D and D* mesons determined using methods of lattice QCD for several values of the charm quark mass different from its physical mass are analyzed in heavy quark effective theory. Nonperturbative parameters are extracted that arise at order O(1/mc) in the heavy quark mass expansion of a heavy-light meson mass. The determined parameters are used to establish the charm quark masses corresponding to the employed lattice sets. Published by the American Physical Society 2024
