Abstract

Experimental data of the rates of extinguishment of wood charcoal combustion are presented for various water application rates and air flow conditions. The experimental configuration consists of burning the top end of vertically positioned charcoal cylinders in a vertical stagnation air flow field. Experimental techniques for introducing, and measuring, moisture into the airstream are also presented.
