Abstract
The abundance of extinct radioactive nucleus202Pb trapped in chondrites is calculated from the anomalous isotopic ratio202Hg/196Hg, assuming the isotopic anomalies are only due to the decay of202Pb. The magnitude of nonuniformity of the distribution of202Pb inferred from the excess isotopic abundance of202Hg is the same order of magnitude suggested by anomalous isotopic abundances of the other chemical elements found in meteoritic materials.
