Abstract

A modified probe with special shielding was developed for the detection of radioactivity in countercurrent distribution work. This semiautomated system has been in use in this laboratory primarily for localizing an internal standard of 1 μc I 131-thyroxine in our studies on the removal of exogenous serum iodine (1). Its applicability to other areas of exploration, where the isotope energies are sufficient, is self evident. Considerable time is saved by the use of this equipment.
