Abstract

External photoelectric effect is registered in CaF 2:Sm 2+ crystal under irradiation with visible light, the effect being explained by the photoionization of the impurity ions Sm 2+. The spectral dependence of the photoelectric effects is studied and its quantum yield estimated. The results obtained are compared with the previously known data of the photoconduction of fluoride crystals.
