Abstract

An external matrix field problem generalizing a discretized bosonic string field theory in (−2) dimensions is solved and analyzed in the double scaling limit. By an appropriate choice of the external field one can reach new multicritical regimes. A remarkable feature of a pth multicritical point is the absence of the conbributions to the main singularity for the genera which are not multiples of p.
